This is the 2nd 'golf' hotel we have stayed in this trip and they are certainly the way to go! Yes, it was more expensive than we had been paying but Half Moon Bay is a bit pricey. We booked quite last minute when our flight was cancelled and we found ourselves with a few additional days. The large top floor room was lovely and had a private balcony (walls at side so couldn't see others) overlooking the golf resort. Little kitchen area with sink and fridge was separate. Bath is always a bonus for me. It was mostly really quiet (small child down the corridor on night 2 excepted). The breakfast was lovely with a range of foods and was in a very nice room - not like the very standard and stark rooms you get in the chains.

It was my bonus daughter's 15th birthday so we wanted to celebrate her with one of her fav. things - the beach! The Half Moon Bay Lodge was the perfect celebratory spot! It was so conveniently located to beaches, trails, dining, & more. It was the perfect balance of quaint & grounded luxory. The outdoor fire pits & hot tub was perfect after being splashed in the tidepools. My husband loved the pillows lol. And, while I had intentions of using the gym & sauna we ran out of time. The staff was super helpful & knowledgeable. (and the bagpipes at the Ritz down the street added an amazing sunset serenade experience!)

Very nice hotel, great amenities and quiet grounds with hummingbirds, butterflies and birds. Rooms are excellent, very clean. Great breakfast offerings every morning and you can eat inside and play in the game room or outside by the pool in a cabana or by the fire pit and play area. Dog-friendly with a grassy park area that looks onto the famous Ritz Carlton golf course. Staff is friendly and thoughtful, you can borrow from a fleet of bikes, and there's a restaurant in the same area that serves great food. We really like it here and will stay again!

Really nice atmosphere at this quaint lodge which is extremely well located on Route 1. Nice little outdoor heated pool and a hot tub too which can both be used till 10pm! We were only using as a base as explored from Pacifica to Carmel over 5 nights and over to Saratoga near San Jose for a concert. It was ideal. Self-service breakfast is really nice with small but varied choice and in a really cosy cute room. There is also Joe's Diner over in the car park. We had two really good evening meals there and the staff were very friendly. Great stay.

I like the nature around it and fresh air, lots of green trees and flowers, very vacationing atmosphere. Breakfast was very simple, but waffles with lavender half moon bay local honey was something special and really delicious. The quality of teas provided for breakfast were really outstanding and nice. All the staff were surprisingly nice and helpful. And new renovated bathrooms were fancy and clean, I really like shampoos and soaps provided, they were smelling blissfully.
